One bookkeeper.
80 clients a month. Comfortably.
LedgerFlex is a multi-client general ledger for accounting and bookkeeping firms — not a single-business accounting app retrofitted for write-up work. Every screen assumes you are working with several businesses, not one business at a time.
In build · feature walkthroughs posting now · $60 per client business / month, unlimited firm users
QuickBooks and Xero were built for one business. You do bookkeeping for several more.
Your stack is not the problem. Practice management, close tracking and uncategorized-transaction tools all handle a book of clients perfectly well. Every one of them is retrofitted onto a general ledger that assumes a single company — the one layer that never scaled, and the reason the rest of the stack exists.
The ledger is the part that did not scale
One file, one login, one company at a time. Everything above it — workflow, status, review — was built for firms. The ledger underneath was not, and that is where the work actually happens.
You pay twice for the workaround
Practice management to track what the ledger cannot show you. A separate tool to surface uncategorized transactions. A portal to move documents the ledger will not hold. Each one carries its own subscription, and the subscriptions are the cheap part. The real cost is staff time spent moving between them — exporting, re-keying, reconciling one tool’s view of a client against another’s, checking three systems to answer one question. Every integration seam is a place where a person has to stand.
Nothing crosses the file boundary
A rule written for one client stays with that client. Chart of accounts, categorization logic, recurring entries — rebuilt from scratch every time. Related entities cannot be combined without exporting to Excel. Thirteen years of firm knowledge, and the ledger still starts every client at zero.
Software you can budget for.
Hours you cannot.
The fix is not another layer on top. It is a ledger that assumes a book of clients from the first screen.
What is in the product
Features go live one at a time. Each one gets a walkthrough video here the day it is ready — the rest are marked under construction.
This came out of a firm, not a pitch deck
LedgerFlex is built by a practicing CPA who runs a firm serving about 95 clients. Its desktop predecessor has been in daily production use inside that firm for five years — through five busy seasons, five year-ends, and every awkward client structure that shows up in write-up work.
Nothing here is speculative. The rules waterfall exists because a preparer kept re-coding the same vendor across eleven related entities. The combined statements exist because a client asked a question on a Tuesday and the answer took two days.
Common questions
Does LedgerFlex replace QuickBooks or Xero?
For after-the-fact write-up work, yes. LedgerFlex is the general ledger itself, not a layer bolted on top of one. QuickBooks and Xero were built to run a single business; LedgerFlex is built to keep the books for a whole roster of them, so the work happens in one system instead of a file per client plus the separate tools that exist to compensate for it.
Can it combine multiple entities into one P&L and balance sheet?
Yes. One profit and loss and one balance sheet with a column per entity plus a combined column, and common-size percentages so locations can be compared directly. Reports drill the whole way down — combined total, entity, account, transaction, source document — so answering a question does not mean exporting to Excel.
Who is LedgerFlex for?
Accounting and bookkeeping firms doing after-the-fact write-up work across a book of clients. It fits firms whose clients include multi-location and multi-entity operators — dental groups, med spas, restaurants, franchises, any multi-unit business — where related entities have to be reported together.
What is shipped today and what is still in build?
LedgerFlex is in build. Six modules are listed on this page: combined statements across entities, monthly close checklist, multi-client general ledger, transaction search across the whole book, fully drillable reports, and documents with a client portal. Combined statements has a published walkthrough video. Documents and the client portal are still under construction. The rest get a walkthrough as each one becomes ready, and early access opens firm by firm — there are no live demos yet.
What does LedgerFlex cost?
We are estimating $60 per client business per month. Pricing is not final while LedgerFlex is in build. Firm users are unlimited — preparers, reviewers, partners and seasonal staff are all included, and client portal seats cost nothing extra. Firms on the early access list get early adopter pricing locked for their first year.
